TP crusade RECRUITMENT!!!!
DAY 1 (Tuesday)
First of i really THANK GOD for the cold and inflamed throat that im having now as that got me an M.C from work on tuesday! Which means after a nice long rest i felt i was healthy enough to drop by TP to assist in the first day of the RECRUITMENT DRIVE to find quality Christian freshmens into the ministry!
And yesterday we also made TP crusade history FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER we had a crusade booth selling books and CDs from mass media! and wow the interesting titles attracted quite a no. of ppl to the booth! And THANK GOD for 29 christian contacts on the first day alone even though we had lesser manpower to help with surveys as well as ended much earlier! a pretty decent GOOD START!
(the crusade booth!...thats wanteng POSING! =P)
(info on mending booth and doing survey)
(Irene did this for day 1 of recruitment!)
(YESSS ALL CHRISTIANS especially freshmens in TP you are welcome to this WELCOME TEA on 7 May 2008, 5.30pm at Alumni Lounge!)
Day 2 (wednesday)
Cldnt be there for the recruitment today..BUT...GOD sent a bunch of RP CRUSADERS to come down to help us!!!!!!!!! And heard we got a total of 47 girls and 34 guys after 2 days which means 81 Christian freshmens in total!!!!
Anywayyy im a recovering HAPPY BENANA now hahha! ... THANK GOD for my awesome mentor gladwin whom i met after work today! Had a very nice time sharing and catching up with him after not meeting up with him for more than a mth! And well somehow after that session just make me feel so encourageeeeee! And thats what all christian needs! Is that spiritual leaders in our life that will just encourage u and help to bring u closer to GOD! And it sure did!
Well personally I have learn that 80% of our lows and downs from sickness is all in the MIND, as we maybe physically sick BUT if we dun look at our sickness as a self pity but INSTEAD take such opportunity to think positive instead, we actually wont actually feel that down than most wld feel. INSTEAD we should THANK and PRAISE GOD ALWAYS! And im striving to that! NO MATTER WHAT!, Im going to PRAISE THE MOST AWESOME AND SOVEREIGN LORD IN MY LIFE!

BENana is feeling sick....BUTTT im NOT going down!
I really need prayers from you guys as im feeling pretty sickly right now with a irritating cold and only just now I almost felt as though it was that HORRID 2 week period in October last yr (the period where i was almost burn out). It was a sense of just feeling so tired, and that irritating nose that just keeps dripping, that throat which seems so dry and that very lethargy feeling that make u just want to SLEEP. Im weary that the devil wld take chances like this when im down to knocked me off..BUTTTT i have to constantly remind myself not to be put down by it! And i really need God's strength to pull thru this!
Anyway want to share something which strike me from a very good sermon by Dr Tan Kim Huat (lecturer of New Testaments from TTC) at 5pm service yesterday!
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9
This verse just reminds me that if we become discourage, down, if we serve and give and give, and when times when we just lost that sense of joy! THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is we should not give up! as in God's timing, the harvest WILL COME! anddd the next verse in verse 10, "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." We should INVEST in lives! Thats one important message that will stick to my heart and i hope it does to yours too!

An interesting edifying conversation with my hairstylist!
Well first wanna share some very cool things i notice happening in shows and movies recently. I notice some biblical references from the recent movie Forbidden Kingdom which i watch on Sunday, a scene where jackie chan was dying and was saying that i wld rather have the desire to love then to become an immortal who do not have feelings. AND THAT is something special which God has given us all..to LOVE! Christianity is not like religions which we seek that enlightenment and become NOTHING and LOSE ALL DESIRES! Its all abt that desire to LOVE and to LOVE others!!! That special desire in our heart! Elliot and me turn to one another in the movie saying..WOW this show has biblical reference!
AND then...the other show Heroes today! a scene when the wheelchair black guy was telling Peter petrilli's mom that he see Hope in him and that he had this special compassion to love others unconditionally..AND... you know what ...that he had to sacrifice himself to SAVE THE WORLD... its like indirectly similar to the REAL SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD JESUS CHRIST!
And then the recent AMERICAN IDOL! in the IDOL GIVE BACK episode! There was 2 days where the Entire American idol sang the song wonderful song SHOUT TO THE LORD at the end and start of the show! and millionsss and millions of people watch it LIVEEEEEEE! seems like an awesome way of reaching out thru the media! And all this happen in just one week! amazing huh!
THE SPECIAL PART! (my conversation with my hairstylist)
After student comm session! lunch with nick and then HAIR CUT DAY!... anddddddd in my 2 yrs cutting at this hairstylist hse! today was the first time i actually had a real conversation with her bcoz she is more the chinese educated so normally its hard for me to converse with her. And i knew she was a Christian and she knew i was too. So everytime in the past she will normally talk abt church and God. And normally i replied a word or 2....BUT today.... my haircut lasted 1 hr instead of the usual 15mins BCOZ i decided to that this chance to talk more! And she ask me abt missions, bcoz she felt God's calling to her to become a missionary and she ended up sharing almost her life story of God's calling for her since few yrs back..and shes quite scared abt going full time into missions bcoz she need to leave her family and stuff..BUT SOMEHOW God is showing manyyy signs in her life, from books to pamplets on missions which was posted to her hse, and some she didnt even subscribe but it came! And many other incidents which led to that stong calling in her heart. She even shared to her other customers who had God working in their life in missions, like this person who is a missionary in china and who got persecuted and jailed even for giving out tracks there! and manyyyyy REAL life stories of the life of missionaries which she met. And it was so encouraging hear the stories of such GREAT faith people! And then she even shared with me abt speaking in tongues and although she comes from a presbyterian church, she shared how the Holy Spirit is moving now, and how this is now more open, and her sharing is quite similar to that of wesley methodist culture. And wowww! I learnttt so much! Even from a hair stylist! It wasss such a great time theree! Anddd its so encouraging to hear that her job of cutting ppl hair and meeting so many customers gives her a very good opportunity to reach out to soooo many ppl! =) PRAISE THE LORD! =)

YOUR WORDS MATTER!
Sunday!
Well this post is from the very good sermon by Adriel loh last sunday which i felt was very applicable to all of us and want to share with you all. Anyway last sunday I somehow ended up staying in the same service twice for both 930 and 1130 listening to the same message! So somehowww had further insights from the second time hearing again!
1.Your words can make or break others
James 3:6.9- The tongue is like a fire. We can use it to bless or curse others.
The devil is out to destroy our faith, you really don't have to help him.
2. Your words can make or break the circumstances.
(the real hero is the one who inspires others even though he is sacred.)
John 6:63- The words of Jesus are spirit and life
Here comes the CRUCIAL practical part which i really believe is very important when we pray! Infact is something which i only recently realise how true it really is!
Heres two kinds of prayers:(Prayer of surrender first before praying into God's will)
1)NOT MY WILL BUT YOURS BE DONE- prayer that changes you (the prayer that changes you) (the prayer of TOTAL SURRENDER) (the prayer which Jesus prayed at Gethsemane in luke 22:42)
2)THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN- Prayer that changes the circumstances (Praying IN THE WILL of GOD)(we shouldn't have those kind of prayers of little faith which says if its God's will then do it, but instead WE SHOULD pray in FAITH which prays INTO THE WILL OF GOD! proclaiming upon his promise! praying into his WILL!)
And this is something which i have learn to be true more and more each day as God strengthen my Faith in him after the many times he showed his greatness in my path when i just claim upon his promises and prayed with absolute FAITH!
Prayer is the conduit through which power from heaven is brought to earth!
We become agents of change to pray the will of God into existence!
3. Your words can make or break yourself
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
We should CONFESS and SPEAK it out with our MOUTH of positive Assurance of God's love for us! We should constantly remind ourselves! We are a Child of God! GOD LOVE US!JESUS IS OUR LORD!
Speaking words of FAITH will EMPOWER us. Speaking words of negativism will paralyze us.
Roms 6:4.5: We are united with Christ in His death and resurrection.
Two substitutions:(2 parts of the gospel)
1)Christ died for us-this is the basis of our forgiveness!
2)Christ lives in us-this is the basis of our VICTORY!
God doesn't want to change us, He wants to EXCHANGE us.
Satan wants us to look at ourselves. God wants us to LOOK AT JESUS CHRIST! =)
WHAT ARE YOU SAYING TODAY?
Below is a very powerful beautiful song that we learn at service today!
God of This City- Christ Tomlin (pause playlist to hear)
You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You Are
Bridge:
For there is no one like our God
There is no one like our God
Chorus 1:
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here
Verse 2:
You're the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You're the King above all Kings
You Are
You're the strength in our weakness
You're the love to the broken
You're the joy in the sadness
You Are
Chorus 2:
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Where glory shines from hearts alive
With praise for you and love for you
In this city
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here
My Personal Life Changing Testimony
My Personal Life Changing Testimony
Looking back in the past I wasn’t actually that staunch about my Faith. Although I was born into a Christian Family, I just followed my parents to church and accepted Jesus Christ into my life when I was about four years old from the influence of my parents. But I won’t consider myself a true Christian as I never had that close personal relationship with Jesus Christ for the first sixteen years of my life. Basically, I didn’t really understand much about my faith and, in fact I was quite apathetic about it. One can say I was just a “Sunday” Christian.
My personality and character then was totally different from right now. I was very shy, had low self esteem, low confidence, not very sociable with people and I worry about almost everything, basically I was an extreme introvert. Although I would go to church every Sunday, I would just keep to myself and be very quiet in small group time. And I would just leave right, and that was how it was every Sunday. And I never talk to any of my small group members at all. That’s how quiet I was. I would make excuses not to go for youth camps or group outings. My life then was just about soccer, school and computer games. Just reflecting back, I realized that there was something missing in my life then. It wasn’t a total emptiness, but there was just that something.
At the end of 2005 after my O’Level examination, I decided to stop making excuses and sign up for my youth church camp in 2005. Just thinking about that decision now, just makes me smile to myself. It was a decision that provided a clear path for a personal break through in my life.
Reflecting back about that camp, I’m amazed how I can remember this whole event so vividly in my mind. I still remember on the second night, On 9 December about 9 plus pm, after the sermon from an invited pastor. Somehow I was convicted by that whole message, and after that the pastor asks the congregation who is willing to surrender their life totally to God to go to the front. I contemplated a lot at that point and I was very afraid. I was thinking to myself, no way am I going to give my life totally to God, I still have my studies, career and so many things I want to do. I was very pragmatic at that time about such things, and my thinking at that time was that the act of surrendering your whole life to God will mean that you will lose your own freedom and that you can’t go and do what ever you want to anymore. But after a long while of deep thinking, something in me just prompted me to go up to the front by faith and to be prayed for.
And while different leaders prayed for me, slowly but surely for the first time ever in my entire life I started to experience God in a very real tangible way. I have never experience him so personally and real in my entire sixteen years of my life till that day. The presence of God at that auditorium was so real that such an inner peace and warm feeling filled my heart with a strong assurance of who God was.
And from that day onwards, I was a total change person. My life became so much more exciting, and all my deepest needs was fulfilled, my self esteem and confidence grew, and from a total introvert I started to become more extrovert.
When I surrendered my life totally to God, it actually filled that missing thing that I felt missing in the first sixteen years of my life, I just felt so cleanse and forgiven, and a warm feeling just filled my whole body. After that day instead of me worrying about my life, everything just went better and everything in life just fell into place so nicely. Even my small group members were shocked to see the drastic change in me, as they were the ones who knew how I was like over the years before the camp. I remember one jokingly told me that she never knew I could even talk.
Right now there’s this inner joy in me that I can’t describe in words, and ever since I received and surrendered my entire life to Jesus Christ. That missing thing in my heart was filled and the best thing of all I am assured that I one day when I pass on, I have a place secured in heaven that God promise us if we believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour and his the one that forgive all our Sins on that cross.

SPECIAL 500 Post!!! The post before im gone....
I will never ever imagine myself doing what I’m about to do now, i'm definitely going to miss all of you out there, but i really want to share my deepest heartfelt conviction before I’m gone to a much better place.
Many people has ask me why am I always so joyful, and my response to them is, well it’s an inner joy from the Lord which I just can’t explain in words. It’s a peace from God in my heart that assured me of my salvation and that I would never have to worry as he is always there for me. I really hope others can experience this joy from the Lord too. I want to encourage everyone in whatever role we serve in our ministries that we shouldn’t treat it as a job, but something which we serve the Lord with JOY always!
Experiencing God in your life is something which I believed is very important to all Christians. Many would ask, how do you experience God then? What I’m about to share is one of my deepest convictions to this questions. This is what I heard from a preacher once which I felt was so relevant in my life with my first real encounter with our sovereign Lord. And it all start with FAITH in the cross of Christ, next is SURRENDER to the Lordship of Christ, followed by INTIMACY with the Person of Christ and lastly by MINISTRY to the Body of Christ and when all this basic principles of spirituality LINE UP - the Holy Spirit will manifest His presence and power! And wow that’s so true when that happen to me in way back in 2005. I really hope from the deepest of my heart that all of you out there will have this daily experience with God too.
Last of all, I really want to challenge all of you out there to make the best of your times on earth. As you know our Christian life is like a long race, and we should preserve through the many trials that come our way. We should commit every single thing we do to him everyday and have the mindset that we are doing it for him and not for ourselves.
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3
It really takes a lot of spiritual discipline to maintain that close work with our Lord each day wanting to know him by the act of our will. But before we can experience the fullness of his grace which he has already given us, we need to know him well first from his Word and times spend with him and then we will start realizing how awesome it is just knowing God! It’s like the best thing that has ever happen to me and I hope that happens to you too. Persevere in the Faith with the Joy of the Lord!
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
