Day 1
Rush back from my FINAL DAY of school from tampines to buono vista and den to NACLI for the x-trainer retreat, and i was just in time for the "WAR GAMES"... it's actually suppose to be a totally different war game compared to war games u normally play. This time there wasnt any ammunition or bombs to attack each other... its more like a pure tactical game of gathering the full armour of God, either buying or stealing from another team. (I wont go to the full details of the game, bcoz i dunno if i'm allowed too) ....So at first i was expecting a very mild game, but it actually turn quite fun! We had like this life around our arms, and had 3 teams...so vyan and i so happen was in the same team so we decided to go off separate from our team mates.... There were other stuff in the game which i wont go into details.... When we bum into shashi team... we came to like a face off! His entire team of abt 6 ppl were there... and den with just the 2 of us..so it was like 6 on 2. A supposedly non violent game turn actually quite violent bcoz we were like grabbing each other shirt to steal the life on each other arms. Vyan was like jumping on shashi pinning him down, and i was like against hans... and the rest were the girls all helping in the attack..actually it wasnt suppose to be this violent bcoz the main focus of the game wasnt actualy to steal life... but to do something else.... but after vyan was being attack finished the rest like jumped on me... i was like pinned down with abt 4-5 ppl on top me, Hans and all the girls in that grp... well... we got shashi and hans life in the end... but we escape quite bruise ... but actually thru out this part, we were attacking in a friendly manner still, only it had to be rough to get each other life.... after from this "mini battle", vyan and me dominated the rest of the war games... stealing almost every life we got, and winning the captain ball game... well in the end... this game actually didnt meet its main purpose...we lost focused of the main objective, but instead turn into stealing life from each other.
After this... was dinner, some insturctional... and one of the Best YM GAP yet! Some of us x-trainers joined the YM gap ppl abt 11pm... and we then had a really goood worship session lead by Eugene. With a grp of abt 20 of us in one room... we sang really SUPER LOUD! But thank God we were the only ones in that room in that building. Actually thru out the start of the pray session and worship... i was actually having a headache suddenly... but den after the first grp prayer and we had the free worship... my Headache was suddenly goneeee! The presence of God was so real... that my headache was healed immediately!
Day 2
Vyan and me got up pretty early to go check out kent ridge park first, we manange to sort the place for the station games, and we waited for the rest of the x-trainers to come for the YOUTH GAMES! Now my long awaited game with my x-trainer grp has finally come. Our first game was actually abit of an impromptu change due to the balloons bursting automatically by itself..but the highlight of the day was THE "CHICKEN" captain ball game! The x-trainers really had a blast playing with the chicken...shashi was like having the most fun! He even pull out the chicken head and started playing with it. So my grp part was kind of a success! Next was... Vyan's grp... his grp took abit too long for the preparation, and shashi and sen didnt seem to please... so overall they didnt finish their game, and i actually pity his grp... we also den tried out some of the camp games during this period and end of with a classic x-trainer WATERBOMB battle! hahhaha!
After lunch i met up with my nite games planning grp.... to finalise on the logistics... and due to some unforseem circumstances moonie and cephas who were key ppl of the nite games cldnt come... so we had to go with our plan B... we did a detailed finalisation and met up again after dinner to finalised the rest of the nite games... we really took lots of planning for this game... and we really wanted it to be the highlight of the retreat, bonding all x-trainers,ushers and 12 stoners togther in one united Ym family!
In the end the Nite games was a SUCCESS! We had this concept of 8 teams finding clues to the murderer... and there was a twist to it in the end..as each team was to find a suspect thru clues they get from the 4 station games. And each player had a life too, and there were 2 secret henchman in this game, which was vyan and me, as we went around killing ppl as part of the game. In the end.... everything went smoothly! And the strange thing was during the game... there was this part when chieh ming team was guessing the suspect from the clues they got... which was hinting at me... one of it was the clue was (chinese is foreign to this person). So they tested my chinese skill and i surprisingly past it when they ask me to count 1 to 10 in chinese. Then clue 2, Although i was wearing the cj shirt... chieh ming tot stgabs was an anglican school (although clue said from a catholic environment for more than 10 yrs)... so at the debrief part...they got mine totally wrong. hhaha! Well in the end..... I really Have to say A BIG THANKS to my nite games team! They are VYAN, NICOLE, FONG, STACY and SHASHI! GREAT JOB guys! I got to say..this is the BEST grp i ever got for any planning! It was really fun working with them! And a very efficient grp! And definitely the best planning i ever done bcoz of u guys!
After this... as it was the final nite... it was really one loooooooooong nite. Our room became the gaming arena where one or two usher and a bunch of x-trainers including shashi and den chieh ming was there. Although i didnt really sleep till abt 5 am... i was actually stoning and taking short naps most of the time... and this VYAN AND KEITH put tootpaste on my face when i was taking a nap lor! I was really tired from the nite games... and only played a game of landlord just all...but later we ate prata take away abt 4 am for supper.
Day 3
Final Debrief and after glow!!! Detailed planning on Camp games and we check out!!!! Vyan and me then met some of our grp members, moonie!, laura, cherie and cephas at ywca. While at the ywca room... i had a mini fencing match with cephas using some rolled up paper! It was quite a fun fencing match and we den headed for Plaza Sing for lunch and den... catch the movie "HAPPY FEET" I give 4 our of 5 stars for this movie! Its a really cuteeee movie which is like a musical with with its really cool dance moves and a lot of funny moments which really justify the ticket price although we paid lesser due to 2 free movie tickets courtesy of cherie. Well wad an awesome weekend to the start of my holiday!
