Just came back from the longest camp of the year for me! And what a good camp to end of 2007 after going for like sooo many camps and retreats! Rmb if u read the last few entries, i was kinda getting burn out from crusade and i suddenly lost interest in the meta camp and i wasn't prepared for it at all. BUT! God has been so real to me during this camp.... and i reallly mean veryyyyyyy REAL!
This camp wasn't an ordinary camp! Its the first ever camp i have been to without GAMES! it was just workshops after workshops, and lots of messages and videos abt crusade and their upcoming activities.
Accomodation...
Pretty okay...had individual personal rooms each. Which was really small but cosy...and then they had blanket which had HOLES in it! Whats the use of a blanket with holes...it made each morning so cold even with the FAN at level one speed.
Workshops and Sermons...
Morning sessions was bad for me... I was like stoning most of the time trying to absorb the message and the Zzzz monster was winning. But the mission trip wave one workshop which i went for... was pretty good, really learn quite a lot from it.
Free time...
For day 1, some of us played BANG! with some of the TP crusaders..and bcoz of that session..it broke the ice for some new comers like Nicholas. And it really brought us a little more closer thru this game. Although this game is super addictive! I gotta say, its a good game for breaking ice and bonding. Since there wasnt any mass games between all the campuses, TP and RP as usual had some grp games togther! Like POLAR BEAR!!!..haha...
PROJECT X!!!!(Highlight of the Camp)....
This is definitely the BEST PART man! This is how it all started! on day 3... just before the street E... they were showing where the grps were posted to. And i was very anxious to know where we were gonna do the street E.. so before the powerpoint slide came to Tp grp (colossians)... i was telling my grp mates NO WAY i'm gonna CHINA TOWN again like my last street E at the CIA CAMP 6 mths ago, which i had a very BAD experience on my first ever street Evangelism! AND when the next slide came! We were posted to u noe where! CHINA TOWN out of all places in Singapore! whats the odds of getting the same place twice! And i heard that by right we were suppose to head to pasir ris... but dunno why we ended up in china town. So everyone in my grp was like saying.. how suay can i get? But i felt that it was really God's purpose for putting me there again! Its like a second chance...for me to go there....
Sooo as i partnered jia liang... to China town...we had a good prayer walk first with howe luen and phyllis... and i really prayed alot for this day. Although i started off very confident, when it came to the actual thing i started to get nervous... but after praying more... God led me to this guy who was seating at the chinatown mrt exit. He was alone...a student abt my age... so i approach him. He is Rui Rong,18, just graduated from PJC...The conversation with him was very smooth from then onwards.. i manage to go thru the entire WYS book for the first time to a total stranger!!! He was so opened! And although he wasn't ready to accept christ..i kept on persisting as i really cld tell he had the potential to be saved. So i shared my testimony and really shared how wonderful a life as a christian was. And at the end... i pass him the bk and i really hope he will one day read that bk again and invite Jesus Christ in to his heart. I spend like 40 mins just sharing with him...and it was really by the spirit that i knew what to say even after going thru the whole bk... and now the seed is planted! After that i felt really happy that i shared with him.. bcoz and i was so on for more ppl to share and soon enough God showed me this guy who was doing some charity drive there. I approached him and he's just a year younger than me, he is Rui Xing,16 just finish his N'levels... it was hard talking to him at first.. because he was like reluctant as i approached him during his working hrs. So as i went thru the bk with him... he told me that he went to church before and heard all those stuff i shared..but then he back slided and when i ask him if he ever accept christ before... he was like very unsure... so after that i ask him again if he was ready to accept christ once again! And he was likee...err...maybe... but he took that step of faith and prayed to invite christ into his life. So i prayed with him after that.. and he told me that he will start going to church again the folowing sunday! Eventhough i cld tell he was like reluctant and hurried to hear this bk at first... God really works in Great ways to touch his life! And this made that passion for God back to his life again! Praise the LORD!!! I was in JOY after that as i approached the other crusaders like yapmin,grace and jia liang who were nearby. And immediately after sharing christ to that guy... An SMS came! It was from my dad... saying: "You and it the Holy Spirit who convicts the heart. Be gentle and courageous."... So this was like so weird! Its like God just revealed something to me! I was like WOW!!!! The sms came at such a right timing!!! after sharing to this guy i was like an Evangelist Machinee... i was so on fire!!! And i was looking for another student which i cld share too...but sadly chinatown has soooo few student and the rest of the uncles and aunite mainly speak chinese! oh well... i really have to THANK GOD for giving me this second chance to o back china town! I really felt a sense of De ja vu when i was at that mrt exit. And from this i learnt that God can work miracles with really constant pray and with a sincere heart. It just took me abt 30 mins to an hr on the first 2 nites in my room..just praying before i sleep.
Other Highlights...
It was really cool meeting my famous blog hopper,Yong Siang personally for the first time in my life. I was actually kinda shock at first to actually bumping into him in this camp...Just for the others reading... this guy was somebody i just got to know from visiting my blog and realising he was from crusade too...and now we ended up in the same camp. How coincidence is that! Well it was nice meeting him personally finally!
The second last nite was really fun... only some of us,Glenn,nicholas,howe luen,michelle and me stayed behind after supper at the foyer... and we started of sharing ghost stories and this Glenn shared this story abt THE GOLDEN HAND! which literally shocked me and eveyone there! We really screamed la! And i have never been sooo shocked in my life before! after that we share all kind of jokes and this Glenn really is one natural joker! His jokes abt his dad was super funny we laugh so loud even the security guard approach as a few times to quieten us in that deserted foyer at like 4 am. It was really a great time of fellowship!
Oh yea we celebrated yapmin's birthday too! So HAPPY EIGHTEEN BIRTHDAY YAPMIN!!!!!
The King's Banquet!!! (OMEGA NITE! FINAL NITE!!!!)
This was supose to be another highlight... because its the last nite! And the ForeRunners this Camps Crusade band was leading. THEY ARE SUPPER GOOD! The lead singer voice was awesome! And the songs they played were the more modern song that we sing in wesley Ym, and i just cldnt help it but JUMP to the songs "King of Majesty" and "God is Good"! It was so hype, and campus crusade isnt suppose to be this charismatic but the students here are! Well we watch more funny videos heard a great message!!! And it end of with a SUPER HYPE PRAISE SONG! THIS IS HOW WE OVERCOME!!! ALL 500 plus students literally dance and jumped to this song!!! And it was a great sight to see from the back! Its just like at the last Wesley Ym camp! AMEN!!!!
