Day 1 (tuesday Dec 5)
Got up pretty early and headed to church at 7 am to meet vyan,cherie,soe,moonie,laura,steph,cephas as we learn the rest of the MASS DANCE moves! We manage to learn it in a crash course of abt an hr! I really sux at it at the start but nowww! I tink i'm getting the hang of it! DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT was the tune of the mass dance!
As we gathered and met my grp members of 1 CHRONICLES 16:25! This was my first time leading a camp grp, but good thing i had a goood but noisy fun assistant MOONIE! We did some intro, icebreakers between our grp. My grp was comprising of chun Yeung, marcus, kenneth, wei yang,rebecca,deborah, elisabeth, gerrie, kemp,jia ming, magdalene and our 2 facilitators mathew and shashi.
I didnt get the room mates i wanted bcoz i invited a friend the last minute and so had to let my friend have my room with my other friends so i was given a room to 2 ppl i didnt noe... but it was a blessing in disguise... i got to noe 2 wonderful room mates. David Lai and Sebastian Koh, at least i get to see the photos taken from davd in advaced... and with richie coming to our room every nite it didnt make it to awkward for me.
Thru out this camp, all the leaders will gather and pray before any speaker sessions and the prayer was very powerful with all those leaders coming together, i cld really feel God's presence in that period. The first speaker session was by PASTOR JEREMY SEAWARD, and i gotta say, he is really one good speaker! His message was abt dscerning God's voice. He say we sld treasure the voice of God. And are we really willing to listen? ... well the first altar call ministry in the first nite was a good start to the camp... with many Ymers going up to the front to be prayed for. I was helping out as a catcher for the altar call ministry. But the first nite was abit mild... although there were some who were slain. To be honest, i didnt really feel God's voice during the ministry time... but the message did speak to me abt how to listen to God's voice and i feel that although i may not hear his voice yet, i feel i sld wait patiently. As there will be a point in time where he will speak to us.
Day 2 (Dec 6)
This was the day for the FEAR OF THE LORD GAMES!!! I was suppose to oversee 2 stations "Minority report" and "Beginning of Wisdom". but in the end i was stucked at the Minority report station because this was really one tough game that needs lots of explanantion and man power. Well...after a tough day, we manage to succeed in this station. Worship in DAY 2 was at a NEW LEVEL! After Adriel message abt being the changemakers! We had a hype worship and seeing almost the entire Ym jumping to the song history makers! And its only just the second day AFTERNOON!
second nite,we had PASTOR DAVE REARDON of YOUtH ALIVE church coming down all the way from australia. And he prayed with the leaders before the speaker session. To be honest, i was trying to get his accent. Actually being altar call ministers seem quite sad at first, bcoz i can't really get pray for but i can only support the others instead. His message was pretty much about how we NEED to be BOLD and INFLUENCER with gererousity. And when it came to the Altar call part, many youths went to the front and knelt down and prayed in surrender, we altar call ministers had to catch those who got slained after being prayed for. And although i wanted to get ministered i cldnt really, bcoz i had a job of helping the others. But then while the Key note pastor Dave reardon was praying for different people he suddenly move towards me and said to me... i know you are a helper, but i want to pray for you! And i was like "errrrrrrr....ok" abit shocked that he will pray for the altar call ministers because we had tags to indicate us. So i said alright! He den prayed fervently for me and his words immediately hit my HEART it was soo real, everything he prayed for me was speaking right in my heart... he like knew my character and he said something like this... your "BOLDNESS" will start to increase. And it spoke sooo much to me that my emotions ran wild and i started to cry but without tears... and i was so touched that i cldn't control myself and i just fell back and still crying uncontrollably! And this is something i normally wont be doing... and i tink i never ever cried like this before. But strangely i had no tears when i cried. But i was really so ministered even though i didnt expect to get ministered.
Day 3 (Dec 7)
WAR GAMES TIME!!!... These was one of the highlight of the camp for me! Bcoz vyan and me was like planning tactics on this ever since we knew abt this game before camp. So we decided to form "THE ALLIANCE" comprising of Vyan's grp, Richie's grp and my grp... and our combine effort was POWER MAN! Our 3 teams got the full armour of God! trashing every other team that we encounter... we combine our engagement cards and stole items from almost every team we encountered. We even stole the other team flag! Resulting in us being able to trade their flag for more Items. And in the end only 4 teams out of the 24 other teams got the full armour! And 3 of us from THE ALLIANCE got it!!! Our tactics worked man!! Combining money and engagement cards to get he 3 sets of the full armour really needed lots of team effort!!! Hooray!!!! ALL the way 1 CHRONICLES! You guys ROCK!!!
After this...we had workshops at main church. My entire small grp chose APOLOGETICS by Adriel Loh. It was a really complex course which was quite in depth. And i really kinda enjoyed it although i was freezing in that room. I learned quite a lot abt the other major religions and how we cld defend our Faith. And finally the last dinner was reallly goood! We had a buffet spread!!! YUM YUM!!!
FINAL NIGHT!!! I invited an ex cj friend, Wu han who was from my orientation grp,clB class and also fencing mate. So it was good to see him again after so many mths. Well, i guess he got a culture shock, as his church is more of the conservative kind.
but well he kinda find the sermon pretty fun. And he surprise me with a chrismas gift in advance! THANKS MAN! I really didnt expect it! Well... after sermon was another long altar call ministry time... this time... Pastor Dave Reardon was talkin abt reaching your destiny. First you need to IDENTIFY, then PERSONALISED and lastly PROHESIES. To be honest i actually didnt really get much of his sermon actually. He was telling lots of stories that was kinda of fun, but i didnt learn much. I feel so bad saying this... well... he was saying something like this before the altar call... if we have a vision or dream we sld prohesies it! He then showed a short clip that was a bit scary, it was abt Jesus crucifiction..he was talkin abt something like... ITS FRIDAY! SUNDAY IS COMING!!! i didnt get that actually. Well...during the altar call.. Adriel went on stage and said his vision is to see 1000 Youths in YM! and that everyone to bring 2 ppl each to church to reach that vision.
After the long altar call...had a time of great worship and had a short break before going to a loooooong nite of praise and worship! I have NEVER JUMPED SO much in my life man! I like jumped so much more in this camp compared to the last!!! And its really good to see almost the entire YM jumping, lifting their hands in AWE of our ALMIGHTY GOD! ... after the long time of worsip we sat down and prayed! It was a really good time and by abt late 1 plus... some of us went back to YWCA to continue to pray for YM! and like what Adriel said.... The success of the CAMP is not decided on the spiritual highness on the camp days but only AFTER THE CAMP! So we have to keep this FIRE and PASSION for God going! By the time we head back to our rooms i was knocked out! A really tiring day!
Day 4 (Dec 8)
We had one last speaker session by Pastor Dave Reardon...and this was something that was talked abt..in order for REVIVAL to occur... we need A UNIFIED YM!!! So he gathered all the Ym comm memebers & senior leaders to go on stage and all of YM to hold hands to one another! Showing a really unified YM! It was really a good sight to see! If we are united as one and cliques are broken, REVIVAL will come!
After that there was a very Looong sharing session, abt an hr plus i tink..the longest sharing ever i guess. There was even a queue! and i was really glad to see so many new comers and not just the usual faces going to the front and sharing their testimonies from the camp.
Then there was the prize giving of best camper and THE BEST GRP! Our grp had a high chance of winning it bcoz we were top 5 in day 2 and winning the war games made us really at a high chance to win. But then this keith grp just beat us due to their team strangely having 1000 in cash in the war games. But well... we were SECOND PLACE out of 24 other teams and still got the same prize of a HUGE LOAD OF JUNK FOOD!!!
CAMP has ended!!!! I actually miss those days at the ballroom, even those times in that lift which that like took super long and those strange buttons keeps disappearing
at evey floor. Well... at least its FRIDAY... SUNDAY is coming!!!!
