(AND SO COINCIDENTLY my new disciple JOHN has the EXACT SAME BIRTHDAY AS ME! 31 MARCH! only that he was born a year later at 1990! AND HE'S THE FIRST EVER person i know who have the EXACT same birthday as me! HOW COOL IS THAT! WHAHAHHA!) Yesterday DG that i led was on one of my favorite topics! Being a WITNESS FOR CHRIST!!! had so much to share on it!!!
(Took this pic after DG, thats the evening view outside the design canteen! COOOL RIGHT!)
wednesday-TP CRUSADE LIFE MEETING!
Before LM today..decided to do another quick run around bedok reservoir... THIS TIME..for the first time ever i ran with my IPOD! and played all those fast Christian songs like WHAT THE WORLD WILL NEVER TAKE! TAKE IT ALL! ONE WAY! and somehow either it did help or my fitness improved a lot! BCOZ I BROKE MY PREVIOUS RECORD TIME of 23.12 mins to 23.05 mins now! a 1 min improvement from last week run!
Today's LM we were fortunate to be able to use a room by a kind IT lecturer who was a christian too. We watch a very inspiring Documentary on JIM ELLIOT- BEYOND THE GATES OF SPLENDOR, it was like watching a moving visual story book bcoz we cld only read the subtitles as the sound was very soft as we didnt had speakers. But it really MADE US FOCUS!
A sypnosis of the show...
Set in the Amazon basin of Ecuador, Beyond the Gates of Splendor tells the story of the Waodani, a violent and isolated tribe, and five North American families who contacted them. All five of the North American men were killed (Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Roger Youderian, Pete Fleming, and Ed McCully). Elisabeth Elliot, the wife of one of the men, and Rachel Saint, the sister of another, went to live with the Waodani. Later, Steve Saint, the son of one of the slain men moved his family from Florida to live with the same Waodani family that had killed his father.
And one thing that struck me in the show was this ONE LINE....it was something like this... When encouraged to arm themselves with guns when going into the jungle, they declined, saying “we’re ready for Heaven, and they"re (the tribe) not.”This sentence really struck me so hard that they were sooo willing to sacrifice their life for the salvation of this tribe. AND INDEED their sacrifice for GOD paid off! After that... killings in that tribe subside by 90% and almost the entire tribe became CHRISTIANS in the end after Jim Elliot's wife continued the mission for those that died. It was so strange...even though the tribe killed the missionaries, the love ones of those missionaries came back and still continued to share Christ with this exact same ppl! It was really a REMARKABLE testimony of GOD!
The things i do onlineee now adays....
(was influence by nicole to play this msn MINESWEEPER lor! And now im addicted to it! TSK!.... we were tied on 25-25 each on this round! and she is TAKING forever to find that last mine...i even got time to take a print-screen of it!)
