My first YMLC!and NO REGRETs at ALL coming for it after a looooooong decision between school or this conference! With 300 plus methodist leaders and pastors coming together in UNITY in one conference! It was AMAZING! Had many new revelations from this conference and really saw God moving among the methodist leaders!!! Revival will come if we keep this HUNGER for GOD!
Mentor Group!
Loveeeeee my group 16! How often do you get to be in a grp full of devoted leaders from different methodist churches coming together. Oh yea we had one baptist too! And the cool thing was ... practically half my grp was from Crusade too!!!! so there were some common topics to talk abt! YEAA!...Really enjoyed the discussions and fellowship with this grp. We had some deep discussion abt christian doctrines which always interest me, and hearing their views were quite amazing especially from my grp mentor,Pastor Bernard Chao from alders gate. He is really one anointed pastor who led the grp very very well. We had some pretty interesting conversations during the meal times. Really inspired by him and manage to took back a lot from his profound advices. Our grp had a couple of good prayer sessions too. From the first day..we broke into grps to pray and the last day we prayed for every single one from our grp one by one.
Room-mate(This is really A GOD DIVINE plan on how i got to know my room mate!)
First getting in my room started quite bad... MY CARD key was SPOILED!and i didnt know who my new roomate was bcoz my original roomate gladwin was bunking in with the other mentor guys. So thought i was the only one at first when i was there alone.. and after the second half of the day when i entered. This guy from Christ Methodist came in.. so was glad i wasnt the only one. talk to him awhile. but was a little awkward...until soon enuff...he change with this other guy Moses who was from wesley too...but serving in the children ministry. Heard he change like 2 rooms before coming into here. And IMMEDIATELY... as we introduce each other.. found out he was my SENIOR in IAD! HE graduated in 2004 and not only that...he is working in an exhibition company "PICO" now! And only recently i was thinking of going into exhibition design! And it didnt stop there! He was a soccer fan too! AND HE SUPPORTED THE GREATEST CLUB EVER MANCHESTER UNITED! its like we had practically so much in COMMON! So we immediately cld click so well..talking abt our IAD lecturers, exhibition design, SOCCER.... and its just so cool to know a senior!
Accommodation/Services and Food
The services was AWESOME!the bedroom was PERFECT!with sofa too! and SPORTS CHANNEL!(watch the England vs Israel with andrew,gladwin,moses,stacy,valmond and Dom in one of their rooms on the second nite! ENGLAND WON 3-0! YEAAAA!)..... the only bad thing there was..the FIRST NITE the shower had BROWN WATER for awhile EEEKKS! I was bathing halfway when it change colour lor! sighh...WELL the FOOD BUFFET WAS GREAT..imagine coffee chicken! yummy!!!!!!!!Love the breakfast! Ate like 2-3 servings! abt 5-7 saugages,egg,pancake,bread,hasbrowns on average! Its just so YUMMY!
Workshops/Worship/Sermons/ministry time
Did workshops on Harnessing The Power Of the Team(1) and Running Low on Power(4)..to be honest...workshop 1 was just alright...didnt see much relevance to the title actually. Workshop 4 was much better! Was really funny and the Tips he gave were good.
Worship was really awesome! And with a little BIASness... Enjoyed the Wesley worship session the most...heh..but at the end of the day...the different churches did led worship very well too.... you really cld see the passion in all the leaders and pastors during the worship sessions!
President Rev Wee Boon Hup, Rev Edmund De Souza, Rev Malcom Tan were the main speakers thru this conference. Felt so bad during the first night when i slept abt 3/4 of the message. was really dead tired after sleeping like only like an hr the nite before.Woke up when suddenly saw so many ppl were on stage testifying how they got HEALED! It was really an amazing sight... soooo many ppl were healed that night! Up to like maybe 100 of them! With so many testifying how God had heal them on that night alone!
The highlight of the whole conference for me was actually the message by Rev Malcom Tan on The Power of God in John Wesley. It basically talks abt the doctrines of methodist and the life of our founder John Wesley. And Rev Malcom Tan is NO DOUBT one anointed speaker and i believed one of Methodist BEST preacher in SIngapore...he sure know how to make this history of John Wesley seem so interesting and exciting... theres so much we can learn from John Wesley alone. On how the Methodist revival started! And now its our turn to get it started AGAIN! And 2 TOTALLY new doctrines abt the methodism jump to me. First was the one on Preveniant Grace and the second was that you can lose your salvation, its not necessary One saved always saved. And i actually agreed with this 2 doctrines changing my original stand to it...after hearing the views from my mentor grp during the discussion we had and also from the bible references to support this 2 doctrines.
Ministry time on the second nite sure did impacted a lot of the leaders. Every SINGLE ONE in that conference was prayed for and layed hands on for anointing. Its like 300 plus leaders and even the Trac president. It was amazing! Many saw the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! And the presence of God was strong. I was prayed for by my very own mentor leader Pastor Bernard chao.. and what he said was QUITE ACCURATE! Although maybe bcoz his my grp leader thats why he knew abit more of me. He prayed alot abt my JOY... and that this JOY wld be my strength! AND its like sooo true lor! Alot of people has ask me why i'm always so JOYFUL! and i believed its really God's gift for me! And i cld sense when he was praying for me and asking me to receive, receive...its really like by Faith and at that point i cld just feel like LITERALLY something was going into me... its like this force moving into me that made me lean back. I didnt want to hold back like wad i did at the last leaders retreat but just to let go when i felt like falling. And like wad Rev Edmund De Souza said...just let God minister to you when you are down on the floor. And i just laid down feeling God's presence. IT WAS AMAZING!
oh well...gonna miss the people i met at this conference! And will most likely go for YMLC 2008 too! YEAAA!
