(After 3 long weeks and sleeping like 4-5 am almost everyday! WORKING NON STOP on this tough design competition which is also my final assignment for this block! AND with the last marathon sprint the entire Saturday yesterday from morning till midnite! I have FINALLY COMPLETED IT!!! OH YEAAA!!!! HAPPY HAPPY!!! =)
Reflection of mentoring session....
This is a delayed entry from last thursday mentoring session with gladwin... was told to do a reflection of what happen that time..so decided blogging wld be a good way to reflect the things we talk abt...
Well that session was really VERY INTERESTING... after some sharing of whats been happening in our life recently and after that when i was expecting abt to expect more bible study and going thru the book abt ministry..INSTEAD we MADE a CROSS of paper clips with our bare hands and with the aid of the pliers!
It was quite a cool exercise, and gladwin was asking me to figure out why we are doing this today. So while going thru the process of making the paper clips straight, cutting, twisting and tying it. He was actually using such a session as something i can take back from, for example theres more to it then making a cross... like theres actually a technique of twisting the paper clips with precision. And thru the whole process of making the cross, he add points to aid in me figuring out the purpose of making it...like "you have to look close into the details", "build firm foundations" and the process you have to go thru before u reach ur go. He den gave a much deeper view on this, for example.. when we he first showed me the cross he made earlier, and i cld try to follow it. Imagine if he just ask me to make a cross using paper clips...tendency most ppl will just use 2 paper clips. THUS brining back to X-trainers, you need to see that GOAL, that VISION and picture it in your head before u can work towards it. So it was quite a deep analogy from him abt making that cross... BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THE MAIN PURPOSE was....
ITS BUILDING RELANTIONSHIPS!... so he gave this example, that you dun have to always have bible study... but u can have times such as a simple activity like making a cross together to build that relationship to those under you, so linking that to me... its that intention to build that relationships to the younger X trainers. We got to build that rapport before we can lead them! and that is SOOO TRUE!
Some application points from this session was... maybe one can like go for a mini grp run together? or any other interest such as soccer or sports to build that bond. And it can start small first... with simple outings with a smaller grp first for easier and better fellowships. So this are some thoughts i gathered to build that relationship with the other X-trainers! =)
