Thursday!
Yesterday was quite a loooooooong tiring but interesting day!Had this bibles for soccer 9-aside tournament held at Farrer prk field, where churches from all denominations came together! The entry fee to enter this tournament was $1000! but good thing our church raise funds for it so we cld register for this tournament! The wesley ym team was surprisingly made up of alot of the oldies from YM, bcoz some of the barker guys cldnt come in the end. And SHASHI actually came out of retirement to play for us and his getting married next week lor!Was surprised he came..but he was one of our key players! Anyway in the grp stage! We won 3 matches!draw 1,Lost NONE! in out of 4 games! UNBEATEN!!!! And we went TOP of the grp without much trouble! Was quite surprise that the way we played and seeing the other teams, we were like the BEST team in the tournament lor!!!one of the officials told me something like this.."WOW..this wesley ym team is goood!" ...and we had like support from even the other teams in our grp! Then it came to the Quarter Finas!!! And we kena the pitch with the small goal post!!!! So it was harder to score now!But we dominated that match! I played the lone striker upfront for this match,and i tink this was the match i actually played the hardest!Suddenly had so much energy when it rain!...but we just cldnt penetrate the defence when our opponents just PACKED eveyone there! and i guess they felt the only way to beat us,is if it was thru sudden death in an only one shot penalty each shoot out!sighhh! and our worst nightmare came true!We tied 0-0 and we lost out during the shoot out!WHAT A WAY TO BE KNOCKED OUT!Even the refree told us after the match that we were the better team ...it was just so sad to lose this way!oh well..this is Football!
After that went home to rest awhile before going to church for bible study...my grp that came was only,mooonie,soe,samuel and ben tan! And it was a very interesting time! We had to use the level 2 area at YWCA outside the lifts bcoz rooms were locked during public holiday!So we drag the 2 sofas together where the mini table was. It was quite a cosy place to have BS!In the end, we actually decided not to do BS but had a very good discussion over other issues instead... after worship and sharing...soe brought up this question abt speaking in toungues,so in the end we had a long discussion abt it...where i shared my own experience in it...and in the later part of discussion, ellen's bible study grp SUDDENLY appeared!And it was like the majority of God's Clay were there!It was a very pleasant surprise!And so we continued our discussion and it change topics to like slaining,weird freaky dreams,spiritual warfare and other interesting topics...it was quite a good time of fellowship and bonding...and i recalled what Parry who is one of the Ysgls told me ONLY just before my BS yesterday after the soccer tournament that.... he said that at our age now...biblestudy is not everything...Fellowship and bonding the grp together is more important then growing...and it was actually quite true in todays meeting,where although i prepared BS...we decided not to do it,but instead to allow discussion abt other issues. And i find it just as fruitful too...after the session we prayed together as a grp!
After that i decided to carry on the conversation with Ben Tan that i had with him over dinner. So we headed to the bishan Coffeebean at Junction 8. It was a very interesting conversation, at the same time it was a good catch up with him after never really had such a talk like this in 6mths with him. At the same time i was trying to get him back to church and God's Clay again,fellow Ben if your reading this now...just rmb what i shared with you yesterday!
strangely yesterday bump to alot of friends!!! First over dinner at plaza sing carl junior...first saw shafik, our wesley ym Goalkeeper!,den sunny my stgabs friend/Tp,den joshua my other stgabs/tp design friend!Like one after another in like onli 10 mins!..and then..on the way home from bishan,bump into cheryl from Tp in the bus,who just came from CHC Emerge conference which i went last yr!What an interesting day!
